Crystal Palace’s transfer activity
The summer transfer window is now open and Crystal Palace have already been linked with a number of players, both in terms of signings and departures.
The most high-profile name linked with a move to Selhurst Park is that of Wilfried Zaha, with the Ivorian winger reportedly keen on a return to the club he called home for six years.
Zaha, who left Palace in 2013 to join Manchester United, is said to be unhappy at his current club Everton and is keen on a move back to south London.
Palace are also said to be interested in signing a new goalkeeper, with Vicente Guaita’s future at the club in doubt.
The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, with a number of clubs said to be interested in his signature.
If Guaita were to leave, it is thought that Palace would target Burnley’s Tom Heaton as his replacement.
There has also been speculation surrounding the future of Palace striker Christian Benteke, with the Belgian linked with a move away from the club.
Benteke has struggled for form and goals since joining Palace from Liverpool in 2016 and it is thought that the Eagles would be open to offers for the 28-year-old.
Palace are said to be interested in signing a number of other players this summer, including Brentford winger Said Benrahma, Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney and Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu.
The Eagles are also said to be monitoring the situation of Watford striker Troy Deeney, who is thought to be available for transfer.

Who have they bought?
The 2020 summer transfer window has seen Crystal Palace make some big moves in the market. The club has brought in Eberechi Eze from Queens Park Rangers for a fee believed to be in the region of £19.5 million, as well as signing Watford striker Troy Deeney for £9.5 million.
This has taken Palace’s spending to over £30 million so far this window, with more signings expected before the window closes.
Eze is a highly-rated young talent who is seen as one for the future at Palace. The 22-year-old scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in the Championship last season, and he will be looking to make the step up to the Premier League with the Eagles.
Deeney, meanwhile, is a proven goalscorer in the top flight, having netted 50 goals in the last three seasons for Watford. He will provide some much-needed firepower for Palace, who only scored 39 goals in the Premier League last season.
The club has also been linked with a move for West Ham United midfielder Felipe Anderson, although no deal has been agreed as of yet.
All in all, it has been a busy summer for Palace in the transfer market, and they will be hoping that their new signings can help them improve on their 14th place finish from last season.

How will they fit into the team?
The Premier League is back in full swing and that can only mean one thing – new signings!
Crystal Palace have been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far, but with the season now underway, they may look to add to their squad.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at three potential targets for the Eagles and how they could fit into the team.
-
Wilfried Zaha
One name that has been repeatedly linked with a move to Selhurst Park is Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian winger is a fan favourite at Palace and has been in superb form for the club over the past few seasons.
Zaha would add much-needed pace and creativity to the Palace attack, and would likely slot straight into the starting XI. His ability to take on defenders and create chances for others would be a huge boost for the team.
-
Cesc Fabregas
Another player who has been linked with Palace is former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard is a vastly experienced player and would add some much-needed quality to the Eagles’ midfield.
Fabregas is a superb passer of the ball and his vision would be a welcome addition to the Palace side. He would also provide a goal threat from midfield, something that the team has lacked in recent years.
-
Ryan Fraser
Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has also been linked with a move to Selhurst Park. The Scottish international is a talented player and would add more pace and width to the Palace attack.
Fraser is a superb crosser of the ball and would provide an excellent outlet for the Eagles’ forwards. He would likely compete for a place in the starting XI with Zaha and Andros Townsend.
Crystal Palace have been linked with a number of players so far this summer, but it remains to be seen if they will make any further additions to their squad. These three players would all be excellent signings for the Eagles and would improve the team significantly.

What does this mean for the club’s future?
The future of Crystal Palace is looking bright. The club has made some great signings this summer and has managed to keep hold of key players.
The club’s owner, Steve Parish, has stated that he is committed to making Crystal Palace a Premier League force and is backing manager Roy Hodgson to achieve this.
With some smart signings and a strong squad, Crystal Palace will be looking to build on their impressive performance last season and push for a top-half finish this time around.
